Every month, Ontario throws out over 200,000 empty printer cartridges and this rate increases by 10% each month. This equates to 300 tons of non-decomposable plastic, metal and polymer-silicone based toner. Integrated Laser has made a commitment to be a part of the solution, not the problem.
With Integrated laser's strict policy to be environmentally friendly, all components in a toner cartridge that cannot be reused in the re-manufacturing process, are dealt with in an environmentally friendly manner:
- Ourpackaging is made of reclaimed cardboard/phonebooks.
- The printing and labeling on our boxes and packaging are 80% vegetable dye based.
- Large used cartridge packaging bags are recycled by reusing them to repackage smaller cartridges.
- Worn OPC (optical photo conductor) drums are stripped of their polymeric coating and forwarded to an aluminum re-claimer.
- OEM PCR’s (positive charge rollers) and Magnetic Sleeves are sent out for recoating to enable multiple uses and are reused in our re-manufacturing process.
- Worn plastic components such as gears, mylar strips are given to a plastic re-claimer to be recyled.
- All paper used in our testing process is recycled by a local paper recycler.
- We are in the process of securing a recycler for spent toner.
The use of Integarted Laser quality remanufactured laser toner cartridges is a positive step towards protecting our environment and keeping our local business growing.
